I think it has been happening for a long time. In 2006 my husband and I and friends were on a cruise. We got off the ship in Cabo San Lucus and eventually had lunch on the beach at a beach restaurant. My friends husband and I are large and our spouses are normal size. My friends husband and I had the same chicken dish and right after eating we both started feeling really funny. My friend realized something was not right and they got us back to the ship really fast and we were very sick the rest of the day. Our spouses never got sick. It was not food poisoning, it was some sort of drug! And none of us drink so it was not in a drink, it was in our food!! Maybe what saved us is our size. People need to be aware of where they get their food as well as drinks Very scary to think what could have happened!
