Our 22 year old daughter Sara went to Cancun, Mexico for a weekend resort vacation with her boyfriend to enjoy themselves before having to go back to college. They arrived on early flight to be able to enjoy the pool and amenities at the Villas del Palmar (5 star) resort. Later that evening her boyfriend went to the room to get ready as they had plans to go to Coco Bongo a club. When he returned to get Sara she was no where to be found. He asked the front desk for assistance and they said they were too busy. He called and texted Sara several times without her responding, something she did was always respond to her phone. When Tony walked around the entire resort property several times looking for Sara, he asks for police assistance and that's when our families horror story began. The corrupt police along with the hotel staff took him and locked him into a room. During this time those horrific people had our beloved Sara held somewhere else. Knowing our daughter she put up a fight and that's when her criminal captors snapped her neck killing her and then they threw her body off a balcony. When her boyfriend was able to get away from where he was being held, he ran out of the hotel to the pool area and that's when he was confronted with Sara's dead body lying on the ground. Her visible wounds were a broken ankle and scraps on her elbows, for a person falling from a balcony she had no blood coming from her mouth, eyes, ears or nose.
At that time the 3 corrupt police officers, took Tony to several unknown locations in unmarked cars held him at gunpoint and began to extort $5,000.00 or they would kill him and make it look like he and Sara committed suicide by jumping off the hotel room balcony or would accuse him of killing her.
Once they received payment, Tony was driven to the airport where he was told that if he called the police that they'd find him and kill him because they has a copy of his passport.
When we found out that Sara was murdered we immediately went to Cancun to bring her home for burial. In that country we were at the mercy of the corruption that goes on by the police, hotel staff, coroner and even the funeral home. We asked to arrange to bring her body and we were told that we would only get the ashes or nothing at all. We tried contacting the American And Colombian consular offices and got no response or help from either entity. After being extorted for our daughters ashes we got out of that country as soon as possible alive and with the remains of Sara. I am reporting this story so that many others who plan vacations in Mexico may be in extreme danger of loosing their lives. The Mexican authorities reported that our daughter was drunk and fell off the balcony. The other story was that she committed suicide and the third and most absurd story from a police officer Roberto Vargas said that when he went to the room 1808 he saw some medication and that Sara got nervous and jumped to her death. The only medications were Tylenol and vitamins. We know our daughter and she'd never commit suicide. What's worse is that we'd made arrangements to bring her intact body back to the United States for a proper and true autopsy. That being said we will never know what those animals did to our daughter. Our solace is that we know that Sara went down fighting for her life. Our beautiful Sara Ramirez Bonilla is our angel in heaven.

Nuestra hija Sara de 22 años, fue a Cancún, México por un fin de semana con su novio para vacacionar antes del regresar a la universidad. Ellos llegaron en el vuelo temprano para poder disfrutar de la amenidades del hotel de 5 estrellas Villas del Palmar. Ellos disfrutaron de la piscina para después ir al club Coco Bongo. Cuando su novio se fue a preparar Sara se quedó en el área de la piscina. Al estar listo fue a buscar a Sara y cuando no la encuentro fue a la recepción quienes no lo atendieran. El fue en busca de Sara por todos los alrededores del resort, llamado y enviándole text, lo cual ella no le contesto, algo muy raro ya que Sara siempre atendía a su móvil. Cuando Tony el novio fue en buscar de ayuda de la policía, es que comenzó nuestra odisea. A él novio 3 corruptos policías lo llevaron a una habitación en el hotel, mientras en otro lugar los sicarios tenía a Sara en contra de su voluntad. Conociendo bien a nuestra hija ella se tuvo que haber fajado y fue cuando la asesinaron fracturándole él cuello y después la aventaron por el balcón. Tony logró escapar y cuando bajó al área de la piscina fue que encontró el cuerpo de Sara sin vida. Las heridas visible en su cuerpo fueron lesiones en los codos y tobillos fracturados.
Los mismo policías se llevaron al novio a otro lugar y lo extorsionaron por $5,000.00 y después lo llevaron al aeropuerto, avisando le que se decía algo lo mataban como mataron a Sara. Al saber del asesinato de nuestra hija fuimos a Cancún para recoger su cuerpo para sagrada sepultura. En ese lugar nos encontramos a la merced del gobierno corrupto de ese país. Desde los policías, los empleados del hotel, el médico forense y hasta los de la funeraria. Cuando pedimos llevárnosla nos extorsionaron y no nos dieron su cuerpo solo sus cenizas. Las autoridades mexicanas nos dijeron que nuestra Sara se había aventado del balcón porque estaba ebria, su otra versión fue que se había suicidado. Sara nunca se hubiese suicidado ella era una niña feliz y llena de vida. La razón que hemos escrito esto es para que la persona sepan el peligro de vacacionar en México. Los casa turista están vigilando para robar y o matar sin impunidad.
