I went to Cancun in May of 2016 then to Cozumel in August of 2016. In Cancun my mom and I stayed at the Marriott Cancun Resort. We have stayed in Cancun over 5 times and this time was strange. Maybe because I was more aware, but upon arrival I was ready to take a shot and get my vacay started. My dad had just passed away and my mom were getting away to reset and distress. I went to the bar that was located on the beach, underneath the balcony of the pool. I took a "tequila" shot... I told them whichever tequila. I remember I was instantly sick. Like, almost fainting. I told my mom I felt TERRIBLE and I had to go to the bathroom. Luckily, located right next to the bar. I've never felt so ill from a shot. It definitely had to been tainted. I don't know if I was "drugged" but i decided to not drink anymore for a few hrs. I'm a heavy drinker but for some reason I didn't drink much at this resort. It felt strange... and my mom and I slept ALOT. Went to bed at like 8 the first night. Which is strange. We also had a maid knock only once and just come right in. Luckily we had the door locked! and we told her we did not ask for cleaning that we already had someone clean our room. It was a very odd time of night. I feel like now, she was hoping we weren't in there, and was coming in as fast as possible. Thank goodness for the lock! --Also, when in Cozumel, I used an ATM that was in the downtown area where all the shops are and the ferry. When I was back in the US I had fraud multiple times the rest of the year! Never use ATMS... My boyfriend is Mexican and Spanish is his first language. IT was our first trip together. We rented a car, and I feel that we are incredibly lucky that nothing happened to us driving the island everyday. We did make it a point to be home before dark everyday! We stayed in an Air BNB and bought our own alcohol.
