My husband and I were on our honeymoon in Cancun in December 2016. We were offered the "special drink" and I wasn't particularly found of the taste so I did not drink mine. Less than 30 minutes later my husband was throwing up on the bathroom floor, incoherent. I was approached by "security guards" and told I may not be by his side in the men's bathroom and to come with them. We had been there 6 days and had not seen a security guard prior to that moment. I was being pulled away from my husband, when another guest at the hotel stepped in. At that moment I went into fight or flight and got us to the airport, not with ease.
